Four PNW Baseball Players Earn All-GLIAC Honors; Kosteba Honored with Freshman of The Year Award

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its 2026 All-GLIAC First Team, Second Team, Honorable Mentions, and annual awards this Thursday — and four Purdue Northwest baseball players were recognized for their outstanding seasons. Drew Kosteba (St. John, Ind./Lake Central), Brayden Barrett (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton), Joey Guiliano (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North), and Billy Chidsey (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) all earned spots on this year's list.

Drew Kosteba (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) etched his name into program history as the first player in Purdue Northwest Pride baseball history to be named GLIAC Freshman Player of the Year. In addition to this milestone honor, he also earned Second Team All-GLIAC recognition. Kosteba delivered an exceptional debut season at the plate, hitting .329 while leading the Pride in hits (52), triples (3), and RBIs (36). A consistent force in the lineup, he anchored the offense with a rare blend of power and contact, finishing the season atop multiple offensive categories and emerging as a key piece of the Pride's success.

Brayden Barrett (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) joined teammate Drew Kosteba (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) as a Second Team All-GLIAC selection, adding another accolade to his impressive career. After earning All-GLIAC Honorable Mention as a freshman, Barrett followed it up with another standout season. He led the team with a .341 batting average while totaling 44 hits, 16 RBIs, and one home run. A constant threat on the basepaths, Barrett crossed the plate 30 times and showcased his speed with 21 stolen bases, making him one of the most dangerous all-around offensive players for the Pride.

Joey Guiliano (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) earned All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honors for the first time in his career, capping off a strong sophomore campaign in the black and gold. Guiliano hit .264 while recording 39 hits, including 13 doubles and three home runs, and driving in 22 RBIs. He also made an impact on the basepaths with 20 stolen bases and showed consistency in the field with a .962 fielding percentage, rounding out a well-balanced season for the Pride.

Billy Chidsey (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) also earned All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honors, capping off an impressive freshman season with the Pride. Chidsey provided a steady presence in the lineup, hitting .292 while totaling 42 hits, 26 RBIs, and three home runs. In addition to his production at the plate, he was flawless defensively, posting a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage to round out a strong all-around debut campaign.
