Pride Distance Runners Compete at WashU Distance Carnival

The Purdue Northwest track and field team opened up its outdoor campaign with a competitive showing at the WashU Distance Carnival, held March 26–27 in St. Louis, Missouri. The Pride runners turned in solid performances in distance events, highlighted by strong efforts in the 5,000m on both the men's and women's sides.

Notable Men's Results
  • Men's 5,000m: Jalen Strietelmeier (/Highland, Ind.) delivered a steady performance for the Pride, crossing the line in 15:21.78 to place 148th overall in a deep and competitive field.
Notable Women's Results
  • Women's 5,000m: Myrriam Dhoore (LaPorte, Ind./LaPorte) led the way for Purdue Northwest with a strong finish, placing 75th overall in 18:01.75.
  • Kayla Guajardo also competed well, finishing 154th with a time of 18:55.96.
