Box Score On Thursday, the Purdue Northwest baseball team squared off against Roosevelt University in a high-scoring matchup at Ozinga Field. Despite putting up 12 runs on 14 hits, the Pride fell 17-12 in a back-and-forth battle.

The Breakdown
- Ethan Imlach (Mokena, Ill./Mount Carmel) led the Pride with two hits and two RBIs, including a pair of doubles.
- Kam Earley (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) added to the offensive effort with an RBI single in the fifth.
- Bret Matthys (Cedar Lake, Ind./Hanover Central) contributed two hits and drove in three runs, including a two-RBI single in the eighth.
- Andrew Reid reached base four times, scoring three runs and adding an RBI.
- Owen Winters (Kouts, Ind./Kouts) chipped in with two hits and an RBI.
- Mitchel Stanton got the start on the mound, allowing five runs (four earned) in 3.2 innings.
- Owen Walkowiak (Crown Point, Ind./Andrean) took the loss in relief, giving up four runs in 1.2 innings.
- Jack Hoh led Roosevelt with six RBIs, including a momentum-shifting grand slam in the sixth inning.
- Griffin Lamarche earned the win for Roosevelt, pitching two-thirds of an inning in relief.
- The game saw Roosevelt take an early lead in the second inning with an RBI single from Quinn O'Bryan. They extended their lead to 3-0 in the third thanks to back-to-back RBI doubles.
- Purdue Northwest responded in the fourth with a rally started by a double from Ethan Imlach (Mokena, Ill./Mount Carmel), scoring Brayden Barrett (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton). Matthys then followed with a single to score Imlach and Reid, tying the game at 3-3.
- Roosevelt quickly reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the fourth, scoring twice to make it 5-3. The Pride continued to battle, scoring two more runs in the fifth to tie the game again at 5-5, highlighted by an RBI single from Kam Earley (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights).
- In the sixth, Purdue Northwest surged ahead 8-6 behind three runs, including a key double from Imlach and a single from Barrett. However, Roosevelt erupted for six runs in the bottom of the inning, capped off by Hoh's grand slam to swing the momentum firmly in their favor.
- The Pride narrowed the gap in the eighth with three runs, including a two-RBI single from Matthys and an RBI knock from Winters. But Roosevelt answered again, plating three more in the bottom half to stretch the lead to 17-12
- In total, Purdue Northwest racked up 14 hits but couldn't overcome Roosevelt's explosive offense and timely hitting.
