Esports League of Legends captures second-straight GLIAC title; Pride take second in GLIAC Championships

The Purdue Northwest Esports League of Legends squad captured their second-straight GLIAC title in the 2025 GLIAC Esports Championships this past weekend. The Pride finished in second place once again in the team overall standings.

The Breakdown
League of Legends
  • The Pride did not lose one single round of play in the bracket, defeating Michigan Tech in the semifinals 2-0 and then went on to beat Roosevelt in the championship game, 2-0.
Valorant
  • The Pride went into the Valorant bracket as the three-seed and took on Wayne State in the opening round. Purdue Northwest defeated the Warriors 2-0 in a best-of three-game series.
  • Purdue Northwest then took on Ferris State in the semifinals and won two-straight rounds to defeat the Bulldogs and advance to the title round.
  • The Pride faced top-seeded Davenport in the championship game and the Panthers proved to be to much as they went on to win 2-0.
Super Smash Brothers
  • The Pride lost in the opening round of the Super Smash Brothers tournament and then lost in the losers bracket round to end their run. 
  • Michigan Tech finished the tournament as the Champions in Super Smash Brothers bracket.
Rocket League
  • Purdue Northwest defeated Ferris State in the opening round of the Rocket League bracket 3-1 and move on to Round 2.
  • The Pride fell in a tough battle against top-seeded Davenport, 3-0, and drop to the losers bracket.
  • Purdue Northwest faced Ferris State once again and got the hard-fought victory 3-2 to advance to the semifinals.
  • The Pride faced Grand Valley State and the match went to five games with the Lakers coming on top 3-2 and Purdue Northwest eliminated from the bracket.
