PNW Overwatch Advances in the NECC National Championship

The Purdue Northwest Overwatch team advances to the Quarterfinals of the NECC Division IV National Championship after a very close 3-2 victory against Saginaw Valley State University!

The series was back-and-forth, with both teams strongly fighting for position and momentum. Saginaw Valley took the victory on the opening Map, Ilios, with a close effort by the Pride that was just short of the victory. The Pride fought right back on Map 2, Watchpoint: Gibraltar, with a dominating defensive performance that held Saginaw from evening capturing one point. Saginaw answered right back on Map 3, Aatlis, after a very close game that saw all five points needing to be captured to decide the winner of the match. PNW roared back into momentum on Map 4, Eichenwalde, with a strong defense that led to a strong attack after the sides swapped. The deciding Map 5 was on Esperanca, with both teams pushing each other to the very max. In the end, the Pride had two key teamfights that would help them secure the victory.

The Quarterfinals will be played against Champlain College tomorrow, May 1st, at 6pm CDT. If the Pride win in the Quarterfinals, they will play in the Semifinals on the same day against the winners of University of South Carolina vs. Fanshawe College. The matches will be streamed on the Purdue Northwest Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/pnw_esports.
