The men's track and field team traveled to Romeoville, Illinois this Friday to compete in the Lewis University Invitational. Carter Leak (North Vernon, Ind./Jennings County HS), Octavius Buchanan, Brendan Wiegand (Romeo, Mich./Romeo HS), and Quinton Bock (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point HS) led the Pride with a second-place finish in the distance medley relay.

Notable results:

•  4x400m Relay: Freshman Carson Bateman (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville), Junior Corrion Matthews (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central), Freshman Octavius Buchanan, and Freshman Alex Simmons (Villa Park, Ill./Willowbrook) took 3rd place.
• Distance Medley Relay: Junior Carter Leak (North Vernon, Ind./Jennings County HS), Freshman Octavius Buchanan, Freshman Brendan Wiegand (Romeo, Mich./Romeo HS), and Sophomore Quinton Bock (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point HS) earned 2nd place.
• High Jump: Freshman D'Shawn Dorsey (South Holland, Ill./Thornwood) finished in 7th place.
• Triple Jump: Junior JC Ramirez (Odessa, Texas/Odessa) took 5th place with Freshman Lucas Bass (Maple Park, Ill./Kaneland) finishing in 7th place.

• The men's track team will be back in action February 10 and 11, in Allendale, Mich. for a two-day event and Grand Valley State University. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
