Pride Track and Field Crowns Two Champions at the GLIAC Indoor Championships Along with Multiple Podium Finishes

The Purdue Northwest Track and Field team showcased an impressive performance at the two-day GLIAC Indoor Championships at Saginaw Valley State University this past weekend, earning multiple podium finishes and crowning two new champions. Myles Sisco (Portage, Ind./Portage) claimed gold in the men's 60-meter race, while Jaydon Tarohocker (Sarasota, Fla.) secured first place in the men's heptathlon. Kiara Spates (Markham, Ill./Thorton Township), JC Ramirez (Odessa, Texas/Odessa), and Alaina Schultze (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) also brought home medals for the Pride, with Kiara finishing second in the triple jump, JC earning second in the triple jump, and Alaina taking silver in the pentathlon.

Notable Men's Results
  • Men's 60 Meters: Myles Sisco (Portage, Ind./Portage) finished 1st in the finals with a time of 6.88 to become the new champion.
  • Men's 60m Hurdles: Allen Akins (Gary, Ind.) placed 6th in the finals with a time of 8.53.
  • Men's 200 Meters: Kalen Cummings (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) finished 6th with a time of 22.75.
  • Men's 400 Meters: Willie Clay (Laporte, Ind.) placed 5th with a time of 49.04, followed by Carson Bell (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) in 6th at 49.08 and Michale Golston (Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville) in 8th at 49.90.
  • Men's High Jump: Eli Baumann (Allendale, Mich./Allendale) finished 5th with a clearance of 1.99m (6'6.25").
  • Men's Long Jump: Lucas Bass (Maple Park, Ill./Kaneland) took 4th place with a mark of 6.93m (22'9").
  • Men's Triple Jump: JC Ramirez (Odessa, Texas/Odessa) finished 2nd with a jump of 14.15m (46'5.25"), while Andre Taylor (West Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Lakes) placed 5th at 13.88m (45'6.5").
  • Men's Pole Vault: CJ Brooks secured 5th place with a clearance of 4.93m (16'2"), earning an NCAA Division II provisional mark.
  • Men's Heptathlon Events: Jaydon Tarohocker (Sarasota, Fla.) won the high jump with a clearance of 1.89m (6'2.25") and the long jump with 6.51m (21'4.25"). He also placed 1st in the shot put with a throw of 11.33m (37'2.25"). In the 60m hurdles, Tarohocker placed 3rd in 9.11. Jaydon Tarohocker (Sarasota, Fla.) would be crowned the new Heptathlon champion.
  • Men's 4x400m Relay: The team of Bell, Simmons, Golston, and Clay finished 3rd with a time of 3:19.03.
  • Men's 4000m Distance Medley Relay: The team of Tuck, Bateman, Podlin, and Maier placed 5th with a time of 10:44.90.

  • Women's 60 Meters (Prelims): DeAndria Franklin (Hobart, Ind./River Forest) finished 19th with a time of 8.04, while Chisom Chukwuocha (Indianapolis, Ind.) placed 26th at 8.21.
  • Women's 60m Hurdles (Prelims): Alaina Schultze (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) finished 10th with a time of 9.39, followed by Cailey Weber (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) in 15th at 9.98 and McKenna Kelley (Weatherford, Texas/Trinity Christian Academy) in 17th at 10.47.
  • Women's Pentathlon 60m Hurdles: Alaina Schultze (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) placed 2nd with a time of 9.22. earning herself a medal. Cailey Weber (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) finished 6th in 9.70, followed by Kelli Blissett (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) in 8th at 10.03 and McKenna Kelley (Weatherford, Texas/Trinity Christian Academy) in 10th at 10.26.
  • Women's 200 Meters (Prelims): Chisom Chukwuocha (Indianapolis, Ind.) placed 22nd with a time of 27.15.
  • Women's 400 Meters (Prelims): Da'Ja Jones (Portage, Ind./Portage) finished 17th with a time of 1:00.80.
  • Women's 800 Meters: Sara McGraw (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) placed 12th with a time of 2:20.55, followed by Alyssa Dunlap (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) in 18th at 2:24.36.
  • Women's Pentathlon 800m: Cailey Weber (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) finished 6th with a time of 2:36.45, followed by Alaina Schultze (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) in 11th at 2:45.39. McKenna Kelley (Weatherford, Texas/Trinity Christian Academy) placed 15th at 2:57.56, and Kelli Blissett (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) finished 16th at 3:22.24.
  • Women's 1 Mile: Kennedy Cox (Las Vegas, Nev./Sommerset Sky Pointe) placed 17th with a time of 5:32.49.
  • Women's 3000 Meters: Myrriam Dhoore (LaPorte, Ind./LaPorte) finished 17th with a time of 10:36.19.
  • Women's Pentathlon High Jump: Kelli Blissett (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) placed 1st with a clearance of 1.55m (5'1"). Alaina Schultze (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) finished 8th with 1.46m (4'9.5"), followed by Cailey Weber (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) in 9th with 1.46m (4'9.5") and McKenna Kelley (Weatherford, Texas/Trinity Christian Academy) in 13th at 1.37m (4'6").
