Purdue University Northwest Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Isis Brooks as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the men's and women's track & field and cross country programs.
Brooks joins Purdue Northwest after serving as the Head Sprints Coach at Southeastern Community College, where she has demonstrated a strong commitment to athlete development, recruiting, and program success. Since joining the program in August 2024, she has developed and implemented sprint-specific training and strength programs that have helped more than 14 student-athletes achieve personal-best performances and earn top finishes at the NJCAA Regional Championships.
Among her notable accomplishments, Brooks guided Southeastern's 4x100-meter relay team to the first national qualification in program history. She also led both the men's and women's teams to multiple school-record performances across sprint and hurdle events, including the 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100 relay, and 4x400 relay.
In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Brooks has extensive experience in recruiting, academic support, student-athlete mentorship, team operations, and travel coordination. She has played a key role in evaluating prospective student-athletes, monitoring academic progress, organizing study sessions, coordinating team travel, and creating an environment that emphasizes accountability and success both on and off the track.
"I am honored and excited to join Purdue Northwest and become a part of the Lions family," Brooks said. "I look forward to helping our student-athletes grow as competitors, students, and leaders while contributing to the continued success of the program."
Brooks also serves as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Club Advisor at Southeastern Community College, where she plans and executes student engagement initiatives, advocates for student-athletes, and strengthens connections between athletes, coaches, and administrators. Her efforts were recognized with the Outstanding Educational Event Award for planning and hosting a Reading Day initiative at Sunnyside Elementary School.
A former collegiate student-athlete, Brooks earned a Master of Science in Human Performance from Liberty University in 2023 and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Hampton University in 2021. While at Liberty, she was part of ASUN and USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors and became the school record holder in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash. At Hampton, she earned Big South All-Conference recognition and was a consistent member of the Dean's List.
Brooks holds a USATF Level 1 Track & Field Coaching certification as well as American Red Cross certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED. Her professional experiences also include serving as an Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning Intern at Liberty University and coaching youth athletes with the Tri City Relays Track Club.
As Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, Brooks will assist with all aspects of the Purdue Northwest men's and women's track & field and cross country programs, including recruiting, athlete development, practice planning, competition preparation, and program administration.
