This week, the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region Teams and Regional Players of the Year were officially announced across all eight regions. Selected by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association, the teams are determined through a voting process led by the ABCA NCAA Division II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee. Among those honored was Purdue Northwest graduate student
AJ Reid (Highland, Ind./Highland), who earned a spot on the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DII Midwest First Team All-Region.
Reid capped off an outstanding 2025 season as a dominant offensive force for the Pride. He led the team in nearly every major offensive category, finishing with a .364 batting average and a 1.042 OPS over 44 starts. His bat delivered consistent production, totaling 56 hits, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, and a team-best 39 RBIs. Reid also amassed 89 total bases, contributing to a .578 slugging percentage and a .464 on-base percentage—numbers that rank among the best in program history.
Defensively, Reid provided steady play throughout the season. In 111 total chances, he recorded 37 putouts and 66 assists while committing just 8 errors, finishing with a .928 fielding percentage.
In addition to his latest honor, Reid has collected multiple postseason accolades, including NCBWA All-Midwest Region recognition and All-GLIAC honors.
