- The Panthers responded with a five-run third inning to reclaim the lead at 6-3.
- Kentucky Wesleyan added another run in the seventh to extend the margin to 7-3.
- The Pride mounted a late push in the eighth. Kozy and Winters singled to set the table before Koster doubled to left, driving in two runs to cut the deficit to 7-5. Purdue Northwest brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth after a Guiliano double, but the comeback attempt fell short as Kentucky Wesleyan secured the win.
