This Thursday the Purdue Northwest baseball team took on Wisconsin Parkside for the first game of a four-game series where the Pride would drop game one by a final score of 4-2.

The Breakdown
- Luke Montgomery (Orland Park, Ill./St. Laurence High School) would lead the Pride with three hits.
- Cole Olson (Stanton, Mich./Central Montcalm) also contributed two hits and an RBI.
- Blake Newell (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) started on the mound for Purdue Northwest throwing six innings while striking out two batters.
- J. Heinzen led Parkside with two hits and an RBI.
- C. Storti started and threw two innings, striking out two for the Rangers.
- Purdue Northwest kicked off the scoring in the third inning when H. Matulich's clutch double to right-center brought B. Jones across home plate, giving them an early lead. However, Parkside quickly responded in the fourth, capitalizing on an error to bring the score to an even 1-1.
- Undeterred, Purdue Northwest surged ahead once again in the bottom of the fourth, as C. Olson's single to right field drove in L. Montgomery, putting them back in the lead with a score of 2-1.
- The game remained tight as both teams battled through the innings, but it was Parkside who seized control in the later stages. In the eighth inning, a crucial double by J. Hoeks brought C. Storti home, followed by another run in the ninth off an RBI groundout by E. Ferreira, securing the 4-2 victory for Parkside.
