The Purdue Northwest baseball team took on Parkside this Sunday in another GLIAC doubleheader where the Pride would split again falling in game one 4-7 and taking game two 11-6.

The Breakdown
Game 1, L 4-7 (7 Innings)
- Junior Tyler Nelson () led the Pride with one hit and two RBIs.
- Junior Luke Montgomery (Orland Park, Ill./St. Laurence High School) also contributed a hit.
- Freshman Sam Carlisle (Portage, Mich./Portage North) started on the mound for the Pride pitching three innings and recording five strikeouts.
- Max Bruff led Parkside with two hits.
- Chris Conrad started and pitched five innings for the Rangers and tallied four strikeouts.
- Parkside would take the lead in the first inning but in the second inning Riley Gallagher (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North High School) would hit a two-run homer to take the lead.
- Parkside would add four runs in the third and the fourth to take a 5-2 lead over the Pride.
- Tyler Nelson () would hit a two-run shot in the fifth to bring the Pride within one run.
- Parkside would add two runs in the sixth and close out the seventh to secure a 7-4 victory.
Game 2, W 11-6 (9 Innings)
- Junior Jonathan Sabotnik () led the Pride with three hits and four RBIs.
- Junior Hayden Matulich (San Jose, Calif./Pioneer) also contributed three hits.
- Freshman Ethan Getting (Portage,Mich./Portage North) started on the mound for the Pride pitching five innings and recording two strikeouts.
- Angel Rades led Parkside with two hits and an RBI.
- Caden Bronkhorst started on the mound for Parkside pitching three innings and striking out three.
- Parkside would take an early lead heading into the fourth inning 3-1 until Jonathan Sabotnik () would hit a grand slam to give the Pride a 5-3 lead.
- In the sixth inning the Pride would explode putting up six runs.
- Parkside would try to mount a comeback but could not get past the Pride's pitching and defense.
- The Pride would close out the game securing an 11-6 victory.

The Pride will be back in action Thursday, May 11 in Lansing, Michigan as they compete in the 2023 GLIAC Baseball Tournament. Game one is scheduled for 10:00 AM CT as they take on Davenport.
