Kiara Spates leads Women's Track Team At The GLIAC Outdoor Championships

The women's track and field team traveled to Bay City, Michigan this Wednesday to compete in the 2023 GLIAC Outdoor Championships. The team would take 9th place out of ten teams and were led by Kiara Spates (Harvey, Ill./Thorton) who would take 2nd place in the triple jump.

  • Triple Jump: Sophomore Kiara Spates (Harvey, Ill./Thorton) would take 2nd place.
  • 400mH: Junior Jerralee Testa (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Asby) finished in 7th place.
  • Long Jump: Sophomore Kiara Spates (Harvey, Ill./Thorton) ended up in 7th place.
  • 10000m: Senior Christina Shaginaw (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS) finished in 7th place with Senior Holly Shaginaw (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS) ending in 8th place.
  • 5000m: Senior Christina Shaginaw (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS) would take 8th place.
  • Discus: Freshman Kaitlyn Pickering (Portage, Ind./Portage) finished in 8th place.

  • The women's track team will be back in action on Friday, May 12th, in Joliet, IL for the St. Francis Last Chance Meet. This is a two-day event. The meet time is TBA.
