The Pride Baseball team took on Grand Valley State University this Saturday in a GLIAC doubleheader matchup where they split the Lakers, taking game one 5-4 and falling in game two 14-10.

Game 1Â - W, 5-4Â (7 innings)
The Breakdown
- Junior Tyler Nelson () led the Pride with two hits and an RBI.
- Graduate Tom Flisk (Tinley Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew) would also contribute a hit and an RBI for the Pride.
- Freshman Conor Pangburn () started on the mound for Purdue Northwest throwing four innings and striking out two.
- M. Graybill led GVSU with three hits and two RBIs.
- C. Phipps pitched seven innings for the Lakers and struck out three batters.
- The Pride would strike first putting up a run in the first off, a Tyler Nelson () RBI single.
- GVSU would answer back in the second tying the game 1-1.
- The Pride would retake the lead in the third as Tom Flisk (Tinley Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew) would knock in Nelson.
- The game would come to a tie again in the top of the fourth when GVSU would score another run.
- The Pride would create some distance in the bottom of the fourth putting up three runs to take a 5-2 lead.
- GVSU would bring the game within one run in the seventh, but the Pride were able to hold on and secure a 5-4 victory.
Game 2 - L, 14-10 (8 innings)
The Breakdown
- Junior Luke Montgomery (Orland Park, Ill./St. Laurence High School) led the Pride with three hits and an RBI.
- Junior Brad Miller (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) also contributed two hits and an RBI.
- Freshman Ethan Getting (Portage,Mich./Portage North) started on the mound for the Pride, throwing six innings and striking out seven.
- K. Nott led GVSU with two hits and two RBIs.
- R. Peets started for the Lakers and pitched one inning.
- The Pride's offense would come out hot putting up six runs in the first inning.
- GVSU would start to crawl back in the second and fourth inning putting up three runs to make it a 6-3 ballgame.
- In the fourth the Pride would get another run from a Beldon Glasgow (Markle, Ind./Norwell) homer to right center
- Going into the sixth inning the Pride would be leading 10-4, however GVSU would mount an impressive comeback.
- In the seventh inning GVSU would tie the game up and eventually take the lead in the eighth to secure a 14-10 victory.
