- The Cardinals added four more runs in the second, fourth, and sixth inning to extend their lead to 7-0.

- Montgomery, junior Beldon Glasgow (Markle, Ind./Norwell), and senior Jack Gallagher (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North High School) chipped in one hit each.
- Freshman Conor Pangburn () started in the circle for the Pride and pitched the first six innings. He notched five strikeouts.
- Schweiger led Saginaw Valley State with two hits and two RBIs.
- Merillat started for the Cardinals and pitched the first eight innings recording six strikeouts.
- Both teams were held scoreless in the first five innings of the game.
- Saginaw Valley State scored the first runs in the six inning taking a 3-0 lead.
- The Pride recorded two runs in the ninth inning but the comeback fell just short losing 3-2.
