Men's Indoor Track & Field competes in inaugural PNW Collegiate Opener

The Purdue Northwest Indoor men's track and field team hosted and competed in their inaugural PNW Collegiate Opener on Friday. The men's team was led by JC Ramirez (Odessa, Texas/Odessa) who took 1st place in the triple jump and sophomore Jackson Bakker (Lowell, Ind./Lowell HS) grabbed 1st place in the mile run.

Notable results:
 
  • Men's 60M: Sophomore Ryan Coleman (Lansing, Ill./Thornton Fractional South) took 2nd with a time of 7.04.
  • Men's Mile: Bakker led with a 1st place finish with a time of 4:29.73 and junior Quinton Bock (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point HS) took 3rd with 4:36.37 time.
  • 4x400 Relay: Senior Jonathan Davis (Kennesaw, Ga./Allatoona), sophomore Max Nauman (Skokie, Ill./Niles West), junior Bruce Leipart (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS), and senior Corrion Matthews (St. Louis, Mo./Hazelwood Central) ran a time of 3:22.39 to finish 2nd place.
  • Men's Triple Jump: Ramirez ended in 1st place jumping 14.40m and junior Andre Taylor (West Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Lakes) finished in 3rd place with a distance of 13.89m.
  • Men's High Jump: Sophomore Eli Baumann (Allendale, Mich./Allendale) led the Pride with a 2nd place finish jumping 1.93m and sophomore Byron Chandler (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) finished 3rd with a jump of 1.78m.
  • Men's Long Jump: Sophomore Lucas Bass (Maple Park, Ill./Kaneland) took 2nd with a distance of 6.51m.
