The Purdue Northwest Esports team easily defeated Drury University 2-0 in the first round of the Midwest Esports Conference Playoffs.
Â
PNW's League of Legends team was able to pull away and destroy the enemy base in each of two rounds played without much opposition from the Panthers.
Â
With the win, the second-seed Pride will advance to next week's MEC tournament finals in Wichita, Kansas from March 26-27 to take on a rival team in Ottawa University (Kan.). The tournament will be played over a LAN setting, which means local area network, with all competitors being in the same facility rather than playing in a server-based, online connection.
The semifinals and finals will take place in the Century II Performing Arts Center as part of Unified's Esports Festival: Wichita.
Match times will be announced later this week.
