The Women's track and field team traveled to Gately Indoor Facility in Chicago, IL this Friday for their first meet of the year. The team had many notable finishes with three runners taking first, second, and third in the mile

·      Mile:  Senior Christina Shaginaw (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS) took 1st place, Freshman Caitlyn Derwinski (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) finished right behind in 2^nd place, Senior Holly Shaginaw (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS) finished in 3^rd place, and Senior Megan Teitge (Kouts, Ind./Morgan Township HS) took 6^th place.
·      400m: Junior Jerralee Testa (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Asby) took 5^th place.
·      3k: Senior Christina Shaginaw (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS) had a 5^th place finish.
·      60mH: Freshman Alaina Schultze (Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian) took 4^th place, Freshman Katie Koryczan (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) finished in 7^th place, and Freshman Bailey Williamson (Runnells, Iowa/Southeast Polk) finished right behind in 8^th place.
·      4x400: The team consisting of Freshman Marley Tate (New Albany, Ind./New Albany), Junior Jerralee Testa (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Asby), Freshman Da'Ja Jones (Portage, Ind./Portage), and Freshman Mya Peters (Missouri City, Texas/Fort Bend Hightower) took 3^rd place.
·      HJ: Sophomore Kiara Spates (Harvey, Ill./Thorton) finished in 5^th place, Freshman Kennedy Cunningham (Orange, Calif./Orange Lutheran) took 6^th place, and Freshman De'Yana Franco-Daye (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) placed 7^th place.
·      LJ: Junior Jerralee Testa (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Asby) took 7^th place and Sophmore Kiara Spates (Harvey, Ill./Thorton) finished in 8^th place.
·      TJ: Sophomore Kiara Spates (Harvey, Ill./Thorton) placed 6^th with freshman De'Yana Franco-Daye (Rockford, Ill./Guilford) taking 8^th.
·      Shot Put: Freshman Kaitlyn Pickering (Portage, Ind./Portage) placed 3^rd.
