Women's XC places fifth at Lucian Rosas Invite

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Purdue University Northwest women's cross country team finished fifth at the Lucian Rosa Invite 6K, hosted Saturday morning by University of Wisconsin Parkside.

In its third race of the season, PNW recorded a final team score of 156 and held off Davenport by three points to post a top-five finish. The Pride's top five finishers logged a total time of 2:04.25.

Christina Shaginaw led the way for the Pride in 16th place. The junior posted a final 6K time of 23:38.6 and has posted the top time for PNW in all three meets this season.

Rounding out the scoring for the Black & Gold were Holly Shaginaw (35th), Morgan Bartlett (41st), Megan Teitge (43rd) and Jazmin Grund (44th). PNW's Peyton Westphal (64th), Julie Kroll (71st) and Kyana Maldonado (77th) also ran in the meet.

Minnesota State claimed the team title with teammates Amanda Montplaisir and MaKenna Thurston finishing atop the leaderboard.

Hillsdale took second place followed by Northern Michigan in third and Parkside in fourth place.
