OTD in 2015: Eric Sickles Tabbed as CCAC Baseball Player of the Week

4/21/15 - Sickles’ award was the first CCAC weekly honor in Peregrines’ baseball program history

HAMMOND, Ind. – With his consistency at the plate the week prior, Purdue University Calumet junior outfielder Eric Sickles was tabbed as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday (April 21, 2015).

Sickles (Benicia, Calif./Benicia) recorded four multi-hit games across the Peregrines' six contests to finish the week with a .458 batting average (11-for-24), three doubles, six RBI and five runs.

The Peregrines capped a tough week with a sweep over Trinity Christian April 19 (2015) to win the league series and Sickles was a big reason why, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, a double, and a triple in Game 1.

In the nightcap, he added three more hits in five at-bats, scored a run and had a RBI to lead the Peregrines' offense.

Sickles' award was the first CCAC weekly honor in Peregrines' baseball program history.
