BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Purdue Northwest Men's and Women's Basketball programs will take on the Ferris State Bulldogs on Saturday, January 25.
The women (5-13, 4-6 GLIAC) will be coming off fresh from a Thursday night win against the Lake Superior State Lakers, closing the contest with a final score of 54-46. The Pride were led on the scoresheet by Savaya Brockington who put up 15 points while bringing down four rebounds and two assists. Anjel Galbraith also brought home 13 points for the Pride and three rebounds.
The Bulldogs (13-5, 7-3 GLIAC) will be taking on the Pride on their home court after a 78-53 victory over the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers. Averaging 76 points per game this season in conference play, Ferris looks to be a strong opponent for the Black and Gold. Saturday will mark the fifth matchup between Purdue Northwest and Ferris State with the Pride standing 0-4 in the all-time series. Their last contest against the Bulldogs was on February 21, 2019 in Hammond, Ind., ending in a 79-64 loss.
The men (7-11, 2-8 GLIAC) will be taking on the Bulldogs (19-3, 8-2 GLIAC) after their Thursday defeat, falling to the Lakers with a final score of 72-59. Jyrus Freels led the Pride with 17 points, ten rebounds and two assists. The men's program also stands at 0-4 in the all-time series against the Bulldogs with their February 21 matchup ending in an 83-69 loss. Ferris' men will be taking their court 93-78 win over Parkside. The Bulldogs have been 85 points per game in conference play this season while also bringing home 37 rebounds and eight steals.
Tip-off is set for 12 p.m. for the men and 2 p.m. for the women (CST).
