Box Score

WESTVILLE, Ind. – Three players scored in double figures, but the Purdue Northwest men's basketball team could not keep pace with William Jewell College (Mo.) falling 113-72 in the final game of its Tip-off Classic Saturday afternoon at H.D. Kesling Gymnasium in the James B. Dworkin Student Services & Activities Complex in Westville, Ind.  Senior guard Tyree Coe (Fishers, Ind./Fishers) led the way for the Pride with 12 points shooting 5-for-10 from the floor.

Freshman guard Richard Robertson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Fort Wayne Northrop) also scored in double figures for PNW with 11 points, while junior forward Jai Wright (Richmond, Ind./Richmond) chipped in 10 points.

Junior guard Chris Nunn (Anderson, Ind./Liberty Christian) recorded eight points and dished out a team-leading four assists Saturday for Purdue Northwest.  As a team, the Pride shot 40 percent from the field (30-for-75).

William Jewell took control early in the first half using a 22-2 run over a seven-minute stretch to build a 31-8 lead midway through the opening period.  With six minutes left to play, Wright scored on a lay-up to close within 17 points at 38-21, but the Cardinals used another big run to build a 63-25 halftime lead.

A pair of lay-ups early in the second half by Nunn helped cut into the deficit a bit.  However, the margin proved to be too large as WSU took its largest lead of the game, 91-42, with 8:10 left to play.

Purdue Northwest (0-2 overall) heads to Hillsdale, Mich., for the Hillside Lanes Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Hillsdale College on November 21-22.  The Pride take on Ohio Dominican University on Tuesday, November 21, at 4:30 p.m. CT at the Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena in Hillsdale.
