Dickson and Martins Receive All-GLIAC Men's Tennis Honors

This Friday, the GLIAC revealed its All-GLIAC teams and top award recipients for men's tennis, with Samuel Dickson (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Glory of God) and Joao Martins (Hammond, Ind./) earning honors.

Senior Samuel Dickson (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/Glory of God) earned top recognition with All-GLIAC First Team honors in singles while also being named the GLIAC Sportsmanship Award recipient. This marks his second career First Team selection in singles and his first Sportsmanship Award. A cornerstone of the program since his freshman year, Dickson has consistently delivered both success and leadership, compiling an impressive list of accolades and victories. He anchored the team at the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles, all while setting the program records for most career wins and most doubles victories in Purdue Northwest men's tennis history. Beyond his on-court performance, Dickson has been a model of sportsmanship throughout his career, competing with integrity, respect, and professionalism that reflect the highest standards of the program and the conference.

Joao Martins (Hammond, Ind./) also earned All-GLIAC Honorable Mention recognition following another impactful season. Like Dickson, Martins has been a key contributor to the men's tennis program since his arrival, consistently delivering strong performances. Over his career at PNW, he has secured All-GLIAC Second Team honors along with multiple Academic All-District selections. This season, Martins compiled an impressive 9-5 record in singles play while continuing to provide steady production in doubles competition.
