The Pride baseball team took on Parkside this Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup, where the Pride used timely hitting and strong pitching down the stretch to secure a 6-4 victory on the road

- Brett Bounds (Morris, Ill./Morris Community) led the Pride at the plate with a 3-for-5 performance, driving in a run and scoring once. Denham Kozy (Munster, Ind./Munster) added a strong day offensively, going 3-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Billy Chidsey (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) chipped in with two hits, while Owen Winters (Kouts, Ind./Kouts) recorded an RBI single.
- Zach Wright (Munster, Ind./Munster) and Joey Guiliano (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) each scored a run and reached base via walks in the pivotal third inning. Drew Kosteba (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) also contributed by reaching base and scoring during that stretch.
- Connor Stafford (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) got the start on the mound, allowing two runs over 2.0 innings. Preston Burton (Sellersburg, Ind./Silver Creek) earned the win in relief, tossing 3.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Ivan Balboa (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) followed with 3.0 shutout innings, while Jacob Chajet (Mundelein, Ill./Carmel Catholic) secured the save despite late pressure.
- Parkside was led offensively by Benjamin Loyd, who tallied three hits and an RBI, while Max Johnson added two hits and a run scored.
- Parkside struck first with single runs in each of the first two innings to take an early 2-0 lead, capitalizing on walks and aggressive baserunning.
- The Pride responded in a big way in the top of the third inning, erupting for five runs. Wright and Guiliano worked walks to set the table before Chidsey delivered a single to load the bases. A series of wild pitches and a passed ball allowed two runs to score, tying the game. Bounds followed with an RBI single, and Winters added another run-scoring hit to give Purdue Northwest a 5-2 advantage.
- After a quiet stretch through the middle innings, Kozy extended the lead in the fifth with a solo home run to left field, making it 6-2.
- The Pride pitching staff held Parkside scoreless from the third through the eighth innings, with Burton and Balboa combining for six shutout frames to maintain control of the game.
- Parkside mounted a late rally in the ninth, scoring two runs on a sacrifice fly and a wild pitch to cut the deficit to 6-4. With the tying run on base, Chajet induced a flyout to end the game and secure the win for Purdue Northwest.
