D2 Hockey makes Central Regionals for first time in program history

The Purdue University Northwest ACHA Division II Hockey Team has officially etched its name into program history. For the first time since the team's inception, the Pride have qualified for the ACHA Division II Central Regionals.

Purdue Northwest enters the tournament as the No. 8 seed and will begin its postseason journey on Friday, February 20, when it faces No. 9 seed Concordia University–Wisconsin. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. CT at The Kube in Hammond, Indiana and the game will live streamed on FloHockey.

Adding to the excitement of the milestone achievement, Purdue Northwest will also serve as the host institution for the 2026 ACHA Division II Central Regional Tournament on February 20-21, welcoming the top Division II programs from across the region to campus with schools that include Michigan State University, University of Wisconsin, University of Nebraska, University of Arkansas, and the University of Minnesota.
Hosting the event marks another significant step forward for the Pride hockey program and highlights the continued growth of collegiate hockey at Purdue Northwest.

The Pride earned their postseason berth through a season defined by resilience, consistency, and key performances in conference play to earn themselves the NCHL Regular Season Championship for the first time in program history.. Throughout the year, Purdue Northwest demonstrated its ability to compete with some of the region's top programs, building momentum at the right time to secure its spot in the Central Regional bracket.

Friday night's matchup against Concordia–Wisconsin promises to be a highly competitive contest, with both teams battling for the opportunity to advance deeper into regional play and move one step closer to a national tournament berth.

The Pride will look to capitalize on home-ice advantage at The Kube, where community support has played a crucial role throughout the season. Fans, students, alumni, and supporters are encouraged to pack the rink and wear black and gold as Purdue Northwest continues its historic postseason run.
