Purdue Northwest ACHA D2 Hockey is set to join the newly formed Great Lakes Six (GL6) Hockey Conference starting next season in 2026-27.
"We are thrilled for this next move for our program, " said ACHA D2 Hockey Head Coach, Tom Pauly. "This creates great synergies with the existing Gl6 teams and many of our GLIAC rivals. We look forward to competing with them next season and beyond."
The Great Lakes Six Hockey Conference has announced the addition of ACHA Division 2 and the six member schools that will participate in the GL6's D2 conference.
Adrian College (Adrian, MI), Calvin University (Grand Rapids, MI), Davenport University (Grand Rapids, MI), Purdue University Northwest (Hammond, IN), Schoolcraft College (Livonia, MI) and Trine University (Angola, IN) will join the GL6 following the completion of the 2025-26 season.
Conference members bring with them a staggering amount of historical success within ACHA Division 2 and 3. Â Member teams have been mainstays at the National Tournament and have combined for 7 National Championships.
Adrian College - 2012 (D3), 2013 (D3), 2014 (D3)
Calvin University - 2004 (D3)
Davenport University - 2008 (D2), 2009 (D2), 2010 (D2)
This conference also brings alignment and consistency for the D2 teams from four GL6 Division 1 member schools and adds two new members in Schoolcraft and Trine.
"We are excited about the new conference and the opportunity for us to continue to grow our ACHA D2 program, " said ACHA D1 Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Carl Trosien. "The stability and the structure of the GL6 will only enhance the student-athlete experience."
Last season, the Pride earned a record breaking season recording 23 wins, undefeated play in the NCHL regular season, and went all the way to the Hap Cup Championship game.
The new GL6 conference creates excitement for building new rivalries, creating better student-athlete and gameday experience, and continuing to build hockey in the midwest and great lakes region.
