Alex Van Lumich achieves CSC Third Team Academic All-American honors

Purdue University Northwest Men's Tennis student-athlete Alex Van Lumich has been named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Third Team, recognizing his excellence both on the court and in the classroom.

A sophomore from Zaragoza, Spain, Van Lumich becomes one of the few student-athletes in PNW history to earn this prestigious national honor and first Purdue Northwest NCAA Division II student-athlete to receive this achievement. The Academic All-America® program, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and academics.

Van Lumich has been a key contributor to the Men's Tennis program, helping lead the team to a successful season in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), earning First Team recognition, and several GLIAC Player of the Week honors. He was also part of the Men's Tennis team that recently competed in the programs first NCAA Division II Regional Tournament.

Van Lumich's recognition places him among an elite group of collegiate athletes nationwide and underscores PNW's commitment to academic and athletic excellence.

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America® program.
