Hernandez earns NFCA Second Team All-Midwest Region honors

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has revealed the 2025 NFCA Division II All-Region teams with Purdue Northwest Softball junior catcher Olivia Hernandez (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Central Catholic) earning Second Team Midwest All-Region honors

The 2025 squads are comprised of 208 student-athletes from 115 programs.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America squads.

Hernandez garners her second postseason accolade so far after earning Second Team All-GLIAC last week. Hernandez had a career year on the diamond for the Pride. She finished the season with career-highs in batting average (.397), runs (10), hits (48), doubles (9), homeruns (6), slugging percentage (.620), on-base percentage (.448), and RBIs (39). Her batting average put her second in the GLIAC and RBIs were tied-fifth in the conference. Defensively, she led the Pride and the GLIAC in players caught-stealing with 13 total and put her Top-15 in NCAA DII Softball. This past season, she broke the career-record mark for players caught stealing with 20. Hernandez finished the season earning GLIAC Player of the Week honors and was honored with the 2025 Purdue Northwest Athletics Best Breakthrough Performance of the Year Award.
