On Tuesday, the Purdue Northwest baseball team hosted #24 Lewis University in a non-conference matchup at Laborers' Local 41 Field. The Pride delivered a dominant performance at the plate and on the mound, earning an 11-3 victory over the Flyers to move to 14-15 on the season.

The Breakdown
- Dan Puplava (Portage, Ind./Portage) paced the Pride with two hits and three RBIs, including a pair of key singles that drove in runs early and mid-game.
- Bret Matthys (Cedar Lake, Ind./Hanover Central) sparked the offense with a two-run triple in the third inning and came around to score.
- Kam Earley (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) added a two-run home run in the seventh to cap off the scoring.
- AJ Reid (Highland, Ind./Highland) drove in a run with a double and scored twice.
- Brayden Barrett (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) tallied three hits and crossed the plate three times.
- Jayden Smith (Allegan, Mich./Allegan) added an RBI double and scored once.
- Jacob Chajet (Mundelein, Ill./Carmel Catholic) started the game for the Pride, going two innings and allowing one earned run.
- Ethan Knopf (Crown Point, Ind./Lake Central) earned the win in relief with two scoreless innings, while the bullpen combined for five shutout innings, including scoreless appearances from Nick Mangano (Glenwood, Ill./Marian Catholic),
- Mitchell Stanton (South Chicago Heights, Ill./Marian Catholic), and Eric Beck (Manteno, Ill/Manteno).
- Collin Nelson led Lewis with two hits, including a solo home run and two RBIs.
- J. Kottmeyer took the loss for the Flyers, allowing five runs (four earned) over 2.2 innings.
- The Pride opened the scoring in the bottom of the first as Brayden Barrett (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) doubled and later scored on an RBI double from AJ Reid (Highland, Ind./Highland). Dan Puplava (Portage, Ind./Portage) followed with a single to plate Reid, making it 2-0.
- Lewis responded in the second with an RBI single by Collin Nelson and tied the game in the third on a solo home run by Bilecki. But the Pride quickly regained control in the bottom of the third. Bret Matthys (Cedar Lake, Ind./Hanover Central) tripled to deep left-center, bringing in two runs before scoring on a groundout by Puplava.
- The Flyers cut the lead to 5-3 in the fourth with another solo homer from Nelson, but Purdue Northwest answered with a run-scoring single from Brady Wall (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton Christian) in the bottom half.
- The Pride continued to add insurance in the fifth on Puplava's second RBI single and a sacrifice fly from Wall to make it 8-3.
- In the sixth, Purdue Northwest took advantage of a Lewis error and a bases-loaded walk to add another run. Then in the seventh, Kam Earley (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) launched a two-run homer over the right field wall to extend the lead to 11-3.
- The bullpen handled the rest, retiring the final nine batters in order to seal the win.
