The Purdue Northwest Softball team split two down to the wire battles at home in GLIAC action against Davenport on Saturday afternoon. The Pride held off the Panthers in a close Game 1 win, 2-1, then mounted a near comeback in Game 2 ultimately falling short, 7-5.

Game 1
The Breakdown
- Senior Myah Stuckey (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) led the Pride at the plate going a perfect 3-for-3.
- Sophomore Emma Fair (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) added one hit and one RBI.
- Junior Olivia Hernandez (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Central Catholic), freshman Kylie Madura (Munster, Ind./Munster), and junior Grace Wilson (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) each chipped in one hit.
- Junior Hailie Charmat (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) gained the start on the mound for the Pride pitching the first 5.1 innings allowing four hits with one run and struckout two batters to notch the tough win.
- Freshman Rylan Gick (West Lafayette, Ind./William Henry Harrison) came and notched her first career save for Purdue Northwest pitching the final 1.2 innings allowing only one hit, no runs, and tallied three strikeouts.
- Grace Gilbert led Davenport with two hits.
- Hailey Whisman started in the circle for the Panthers pitching all six innings allowing two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
- The Pride grabbed the early lead scoring a run in the first inning off an RBI hit from Fair to make it a 1-0 game.
- Purdue Northwest scored a run the third inning to increase their lead to 2-0.
- Davenport notched their lone run in the fourth inning off a Kailyn Luna RBI double to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- The Pride held strong all game with great defense and pitching to hold on for the win, 2-1.

- Hernandez led the Pride with two hits and one RBI.
- Stuckey and senior Darcy Barkauskas (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) added one hit and one RBI.
- Sophomore Kylie Dugan (Buck Creek, Ind./William Henry Harrison) and Madura both notched one hit and grabbed a stolen base.
- Wilson and Fair contributed each one hit during the game.
- Dugan chipped in one hit and one stolen base.
- Freshman Jordyn Roop (Hudson, Ill./University) started in the circle for Pride pitching the first 1.2 innings allowing seven runs, only three earned, with six hits and two strikeouts.
- Gick once again came in for relief for Purdue Northwest and the Pride life with her performance to keep them in the game. She pitched the final 5.1 innings allowing only one hit and no runs with five strikeouts to shutdown the Davenport bats.
- Brooke Bernt led Davenport with two hits and two RBIs.
- Mariah Stines started on the mound for the Panthers pitching the first five innings allowing four runs on six hits with two strikeouts to pick up the win.
- Julia Perry came in for relief for Davenport and pitched the final two innings allowing one run with two hits.
- The second inning was where the Panthers took control scoring seven runs that included to crucial Pride errors to take a 7-0 advantage.
- Purdue Northwest scored their first run of the game in second to make it 7-1.
- The Pride gained another run in the fourth inning to make the score 7-2.
- In the sixth inning, Purdue Northwest scored three runs to cut their deficit to 7-5 as they continued to chip away at their deficit.
- After a getting a lead-off hit to start the seventh inning, the Pride couldn't muster up anymore offense as the comeback ended up falling short in Game 2, 7-5.
Record Breaking Day
- Purdue Northwest Softball sophomore Kylie Dugan (Buck Creek, Ind./William Henry Harrison) broke the record for career stolen bases with 31. Junior Olivia Hernandez (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Central Catholic) topped the career mark with runners caught stealing with 17 total in her career.
