The Purdue Northwest women's basketball team gave a strong effort in GLIAC action on Thursday evening but ultimately fell in the end against Michigan Tech, 78-62.

• Junior Alyssa Cole (Nashville, Ill./Nashville Community) contributed 15 points with a team-high seven rebounds.
• Senior Akyia Baker (Newark, N.J./St. Thomas Aquinas) chipped in 11 points.
• As a team, Purdue Northwest shot 22-of-66 (33.3%) from the field and 4-of-18 (22.2%) from behind the arc, while tallying seven steals and six assists.
• Alyssa Wypych led Michigan Tech with a game-high 19 points and grabbed 11 boards for a double-double.
• The Huskies finished the game shooting 33-of-69 (37.5%) from the floor and 6-of-22 (27.3%) from three-point range, while recording 17 assists and nine steals.

The Breakdown

• The Huskies came out the game strong taking a 26-10 lead after the first quarter.
• Purdue Northwest started to chip away their deficit going on a 11-2 run to make the game 28-21.
• Michigan Tech then responded and finished first half going up by double-digits again to take a 38-25 lead at halftime.
• The Pride came out in the second half with great effort to cut the lead to 38-34 after going an 11-0 run with six minutes left in the third.
• Both teams continued to battle for the remainder of the third quarter as the Huskies once again clung to a double-digit advantage going into the fourth up 54-44.
• The fourth was saw Michigan Tech takes things over as they out-scored the Pride 24-18 and ended up sealing the win after a great effort from Purdue Northwest, 78-62.
• The Pride led the game in points off turnovers, 19-10.
• Purdue Northwest finished the contest outscoring the Huskies in fast break points, 14-3.
• The Pride ended the game going a near perfect 14-of-15 from the charity stripe.
