Women's Basketball downed by #1 Grand Valley State in road action

The Purdue Northwest Women's Basketball team were downed by #1 Grand Valley State in GLIAC action on the road on Saturday afternoon, 106-47.

  • Sophomore Sophia Remmel (Dunlap, Ill./Dunlap) chipped in seven points and three assists in her first start of the season.

The Breakdown
  • The first quarter saw Pride start off with great energy with the Lakers holding a slim 13-9 lead with less then four minutes in the first.
  • GVSU scored the final eight points of the first to take a 21-9 lead into the second quarter.
  • The Lakers turned things on in the second that included a 25-2 run to end the second and take a 56-17 advantage at halftime.
  • GVSU continued their positive play in the second half and did not look back as the Pride ultimately fell in the end, 106-47.
  • Turnovers and rebounds were key factors in the tough loss for Purdue Northwest.
