Men's Basketball falls at home to #6 Lake Superior State

The Purdue Northwest Men's Basketball team fell at home in GLIAC action against #6 Lake Superior State on Thursday evening, 107-73.

  • Senior Detalian Brown (Chicago, Ill./Combine Academy) led the Pride with 15 points going 5-of-8 from the three-point line.
  • Senior Jailen Nelson (San Diego, Calif./Carlsbad) added 11 points and three assists.

  • Hunter Soper led Lake Superior State with a game-high 29 points going 12-of-13 from the field with five boards.

  • As a team, the Lakers finished the contest going 40-of-68 (58.8%) from the field and shot 17-of-33 (51.5%) from behind the arc. They recorded 19 assists and six steals with two blocks.
The Breakdown
  • The Pride battled hard in the first few minutes of the game with only a deficit of 12-11.
  • Lake Superior State then used a 16-5 run to bring them to a 28-16 lead with less then twelve minutes remaining in the first.
  • Purdue Northwest did not give up though and fought their way back to a 39-33 deficit with five minutes until halftime.
  • The Lakers then regained control of the game with an 18-4 run to take a strong 57-37 advantage at the half.
  • Lake Superior State came out the second half and kept their momentum going for the rest of the game with the Pride not able to gain any control, falling in the end, 107-73.
