This Friday and Saturday, the Purdue Northwest D2 Hockey Team hosted Roosevelt University for a two-game series where the Pride would pick up two big wins overs the Lakers.

Inside the Numbers

• JT Verdino (Rutherford, N.J./) led Purdue Northwest with two goals and one assist, while Nate Cheney (St. Michael, Minn.) contributed two goals and two assists to power the offense.
• Jacob Behnke (South Elgin, Ill.) had a standout performance, tallying three assists, and Alex Moon (Wyandotte, Mich./Wyandotte) added a goal and an assist.

• Roosevelt University opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by Kamil Bednarz at 10:06, assisted by Nicola Clemente. Purdue Northwest responded at 14:55 with a goal from Nate Cheney (St. Michael, Minn.), assisted by JT Verdino (Rutherford, N.J./) and Duncan McCourt (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community HS), tying the game 1-1. 
• Purdue Northwest took the lead early in the second period with a goal by JT Verdino (Rutherford, N.J./) just 1:03 into the period, assisted by Nate Cheney (St. Michael, Minn.). Duncan McCourt (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community HS) extended the lead at 6:16 with a power-play goal, assisted by Sean Curtin (Chicago, Ill./) and Jacob Behnke (South Elgin, Ill.). One minute later, Colin Kozijn scored at 7:16, assisted by Fynn O'Neill (Calgary, Alberta, Canada). 
• Roosevelt made a goalie change at 15:51, but Purdue Northwest capitalized immediately with another power-play goal by Fynn O'Neill (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) at 15:56, assisted by Colin Kozijn. Alex Moon (Wyandotte, Mich./Wyandotte) closed out the second period with a power-play goal at 19:21, assisted by Nick Lafornara, giving Purdue a commanding lead. 
• The third period saw Purdue Northwest continue their offensive dominance. Sam Snider (St. John, Ind.) scored at 4:35, assisted by Nate Cheney (St. Michael, Minn.). JT Verdino (Rutherford, N.J./) added another goal at 9:58, assisted by Sam Snider (St. John, Ind.) and Jacob Behnke (South Elgin, Ill.). 
• Dominic Suhr (Las Vegas, Nev.) added a goal at 11:50, assisted by Alex Moon (Wyandotte, Mich./Wyandotte). Nate Cheney (St. Michael, Minn.) capped off the scoring for Purdue Northwest at 17:33, netting his second goal of the game with an assist from Jacob Behnke (South Elgin, Ill.). 
• The Pride would cruise to an easy 10-1 win.

• Nate Cheney (St. Michael, Minn.) led Purdue Northwest with one goal, while Duncan McCourt (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community HS), Alex Moon (Wyandotte, Mich./Wyandotte), Fynn O'Neill (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), and Nick Lafornara each contributed one assist.
• Sean Curtin (Chicago, Ill./), Blake Witkowski (Thompson, Conn.), and Savva Verbetskii (Ekaterinburg, Russia/) added key goals to secure the win for Purdue Northwest.
• John Hughes (Noblesville, Ind.) played a full 60 minutes in goal for Purdue Northwest, making 20 saves on 21 shots to anchor a strong defensive effort.
• For Roosevelt University, Kamil Bednarz scored the team's lone goal, with Aiden Ryan providing the assist.
• Alex Davis played 59:08 in goal for Roosevelt, stopping 58 of 61 shots in a solid performance despite the loss.

• Roosevelt University tied the game in the third period when Kamil Bednarz scored at 10:58, assisted by Aiden Ryan.
• Purdue Northwest quickly regained the lead with the game-winning goal by Savva Verbetskii (Ekaterinburg, Russia/) at 11:12, assisted by Alex Moon (Wyandotte, Mich./Wyandotte) and Duncan McCourt (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community HS).
• At 14:54, Nate Cheney (St. Michael, Minn.) added an insurance power-play goal for Purdue Northwest, assisted by Nick Lafornara and Jordan Degouw.
• With less than two minutes remaining, Roosevelt University pulled their goalie, but Blake Witkowski (Thompson, Conn.) scored a short-handed empty-net goal for Purdue Northwest at 19:36 to seal the victory.
