On Thursday the Purdue Northwest kicked off GLIAC tournament in Lansing, Michigan taking on the Cardinals of Saginaw Valley. The Pride would be overwhelmed and fall to Saginaw by a score of 18-4.

The Breakdown
- Beldon Glasgow (Markle, Ind./Norwell) led the Pride with one hit and two RBIs.
- Billy Jones () also contributed two hits.
- Blake Newell (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) started on the mound for Purdue Northwest throwing four innings while striking out two.
- H. Jatczak led Saginaw with four hits and three RBIs.
- T. McLaren started and threw eight innings, striking out five for the Cardinals.
- The Pride started strong in the 3rd inning with a single through the left side by Montgomery, bringing in Ballard for the first run of the game. But Saginaw Valley quickly answered in the same inning when R. Raymond advanced to second, allowing Col. Cornwel to score on a throwing error, tying the game 1-1.
- In the 5th inning, Purdue Northwest regained the lead as Matulich's sacrifice fly brought in Andrews, putting them up 2-1. However, Saginaw Valley surged ahead in the bottom of the 5th with a single to right field driving in a run, followed by groundout and a walk, giving them a 3-2 lead.
- Saginaw Valley continued to extend their lead in the 6th inning, with a double and a ground-rule double driving in runs, pushing the score to 8-2. They didn't let up, capitalizing on errors and walks to bring in more runs, eventually widening the gap to 18-2 by the 8th inning.
- Purdue Northwest managed to add a couple more runs in the 9th inning with Glasgow's single, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
- In the end, Saginaw Valley secured the win with a final score of 18-4.
