JC Ramirez clinches fourth GLIAC Championship; Pride track and field finish fourth at 2024 GLIAC Outdoor Championships

From May 1st to 3rd, the Purdue Northwest track and field squad journeyed to Allendale, Michigan, for the 2024 GLIAC Outdoor Championship. The Pride amassed a total of 79.5 points, clinching fourth place overall. Among their achievements, JC Ramirez (Odessa, Texas/Odessa) stood out by claiming his fourth GLIAC Championship title in the triple jump, further solidifying his position as one of the top 15 athletes in the nation in that event.

•    Men's Long Jump: Lucas Bass (Maple Park, Ill./Kaneland) would end the meet in 3rd place.
•    Men's 200m: Myles Sisco (Portage, Ind./Portage) would take 4th place with Ryan Coleman (Lansing, Ill./Thornton Fractional South) securing 9th place.
•    Men's 4x400 Relay: The team of Michale Golston, Bruce Leipart (Hobart, Ind./Hobart HS), Josh Tuck (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton), and Alex Simmons (Villa Park, Ill./Willowbrook) ended the race in 4th place.
•    Men's Javelin: Eli Baumann (Allendale, Mich./Allendale) took 4th place, Chris Poole secured 5th place, and Anthony Caserta (Perth, Ontario/Perth District Collegiate Institute) finished in 8th place.
•    Men's High Jump: D'Shawn Dorsey (South Holland, Ill./Thornwood) took 4th place with Eli Baumann (Allendale, Mich./Allendale) taking 7th place.
•    Men's Decathlon: Byron Chandler (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) finished in 5th place.
•    Men's 400m: Alex Simmons (Villa Park, Ill./Willowbrook) secured a 7th place finish.
•    Men's 5000m: Jackson Bakker (Lowell, Ind./Lowell HS) ended the event in 7th place.
•    Men's 400mH: Jonathan Davis (Kennesaw, Ga./Allatoona) took 7th place with Allen Akins (/) taking 9th.
