The Purdue Northwest softball team fell to Saginaw Valley State, 4-1, to open Day 2 of the GLIAC Tournament but bounced back to defeat Ferris State in the second game, 6-4, to keep playoff run alive.

Game 1 - vs Saginaw Valley State
The Breakdown
- Senior Aubrey Shroyer (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) led the Pride with one hit and one RBI.
- Sophomore Amanda DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) and freshman Emma Fair (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) both chipped in one hit.
- Senior Gabby Paliska (Palos Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East (Wisconsin-Green Bay))Â started on the mound for the Pride and pitched all seven innings allowing six hits with two earned runs and two strikeouts.
- Olivia Sabin led Saginaw Valley State with two hits and one RBI.
- Emily Depew started in the circle for the Cardinals and pitched all seven innings for the complete game win with ten strikeouts.
- The Pride grabbed the early lead in the third inning off a Shroyer RBI double to go up 1-0.
- SVSU took the lead in the third inning scoring three runs to make it 3-1.
- The Cardinals grabbed an another run in the sixth inning to make the final score of 4-1.
Game 2 - vs. Ferris State - Elimination Game
The Breakdown
- A.DeBoer led the Pride at the plate with three hits and one run scored.
- Shroyer and senior Jessica DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) each added two hits and one RBI.
- Freshman Kylie Dugan (Buck Creek, Ind./William Henry Harrison)Â contributed two hits and a stolen base.
- Senior Allison Arnold (Tucson, Ariz./Naperville North)Â chipped in one hit and three RBIs.
- Senior Maddison Roop (Hudson, Ill./University)Â started in the circle for Pride and pitched the first 4.1 innings and earned the win. The win gives Roop the most wins all-time for PNW softball. (32)
- Paliska came in for relief pitching the final 2.2 innings allowing only one hit, with three strikeouts, and recorded the save.
- Emma Gillard led Ferris State with two hits and two RBI.
- Ashley Webb started on the mound for the Bulldogs and pitched the first 4.1 innings allowing 11 hits and six runs.
- The Pride scored three runs to start the game in the first off a bases clearing triple by Arnold to make the score 3-0.
- Purdue Northwest grabbed another run in the second from a J.DeBoer RBI single to make it 4-0.
- The Bulldogs scored their first runs in the fourth inning and cut their deficit to 4-2.
- The Pride tallied another run off an RBI groundout by Fair to increase their lead to 5-2.
- Ferris State didn't go away and score two runs off an RBI double from Gillard to make it a score game, 5-4.
- Purdue Northwest scored a run in the fifth off a Shroyer RBI single to make it a 6-4 advantage.
- The Pride held on strong for the last few innings to seal the win in the end, 6-4.
