This Tuesday the PNW Baseball team took on the University of Indianapolis in a weekday nonconference doubleheader. The Pride's offense would come out to play and the Pride would take both games over the Greyhounds.
The Basics

Game One – W, 7-6 (7 Innings)
The Breakdown
- Junior Dan Puplava ()Â led the Pride with three hits and two RBIs.
- Jax Kalemba (Chicago, Ill./Andrean), Drake Ballard (Louisville, Ky./Martha Laynes Collins), and Cole Olson (Stanton, Mich./Central Montcalm) each contributed two hits as well.
- Senior Noah Burgh (Warsaw, Ind./Warsaw Community High School) started on the mound for Purdue Northwest throwing five innings and striking out four.
- D. Donaldson led UINDY with two hits and two RBIs.
- F. Klemm started and threw three innings, striking out one for the Greyhounds.
- In the first two innings UINDY would get off to an early lead putting up three runs of some solid hits and defensive errors by the Pride.
- The Pride would bounce right back though finding their first run in the second off a bases loaded walk.
- UINDY would respond in the fourth with another run, but Puplava would blast a solo homer to cut the lead to two.
- The Pride would find another run in the fourth to make it a one run ballgame.
- The Prides offense would explode in the fifth inning putting up four runs to take the lead.
- Andrew Petsche (Oswego, Ill./Oswego East) would enter to pitch for the Pride and slam the door giving the Pride a 7-6 victory.
Game Two – W, 4-0 (7 Innings)
- Junior Billy Jones () led the Pride with three hits.
- Junior Cole Olson (Stanton, Mich./Central Montcalm)Â also contributed a hit and two RBIs.
- Sophomore Owen Walkowiak (Crown Point, Ind./Andrean)Â started on the mound for the Pride throwing three innings and striking out four.
- L. Vergara led the Greyhounds with one hit.
- C. Wilburn started and threw one inning, striking out one for UINDY.
- In the first inning, the Pride got off to a strong start as Smith drew a walk, bringing in the first run of the game.
- The Pride extended their lead in the second inning with consecutive walks, driving in two more runs.
- The Pride continued to pile on the runs in the fourth inning with a single to right field, bringing in another run and solidifying their lead.
- With strong pitching and solid defense, Purdue Northwest held the Greyhounds scoreless throughout the game, securing a decisive shutout victory.

The Pride are set to return to the field on Sunday, April 12th, at 3:00 PM CT to kick off a four game series against Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan.
