This Friday the Purdue Northwest Baseball team kicked off conference play, taking on Davenport University in a doubleheader. The Pride would fall to the Panthers in both games 4-1.

Game One – L, 4-1 (7 Innings)
The Breakdown
- Junior Cole Olson (Stanton, Mich./Central Montcalm) led the Pride with one hit.
- Sophomore Connor Pangburn started on the mound for Purdue Northwest throwing six innings and striking out eight.
J. Evans led Davenport with one hit and an RBI.
C. Fischer Started and threw seven innings striking out thirteen.
- Purdue Northwest scored first in the 1st inning when L. Montgomery crossed the plate on a passed ball, taking an initial lead of 1-0. However, Davenport quickly responded in the 3rd inning with consecutive doubles by C. Hnilo and J. Evans, resulting in two runs scored, putting Davenport ahead 2-1.
- Davenport further extended their lead in the 6th inning when J. Robinson singled up the middle, advanced to second, and then to third due to an error by the center fielder, driving in D. Cowdrey, making it 3-1.
- Later in the same inning, J. Robinson capitalized on a wild pitch, adding another run for Davenport, bringing the final score to 4-1 in favor of Davenport.
- Davenport University would close out the seventh inning to secure a 4-1 victory.
Game Two – L, 4-1 (7 Innings weather)
- Senior Luke Montgomery led the Pride with two hits.
- Senior Hayden Matulich (San Jose, Calif./Pioneer) also contributed an RBI.
- Jake Nightingale (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) started on the mound for the Pride throwing five innings striking out three.
- C. Kemp led Davenport with two hits and an RBI.Â
- J. Berkenpas started and threw seven innings striking out three for the Panther.
- The game began with Purdue Northwest scoring in the 1st inning as Matulich hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Montgomery to score, giving them an early lead of 1-0.
- Davenport responded in the 2nd inning when C. Kemp singled to shortstop, bringing in C. Price to tie the game at 1-1. Davenport then took the lead in the 3rd inning with M. Tchavdaro's single up the middle, driving in J. Evans, followed by an unearned run as C. Price reached first on an error by the second baseman, allowing J. Robinson to score, making it 3-1 in favor of Davenport.
- In the 5th inning, Davenport extended their lead further as A. Aloisio singled up the middle, bringing in J. Robinson, sealing the final score at 4-1 in favor of Davenport.
