Baseball Splits Doubleheader at Kentucky Wesleyan

On Saturday, the Purdue Northwest baseball team proceeded with their four-game series against Kentucky Wesleyan College, engaging in games two and three in a doubleheader. The Pride experienced a split in the day's outcomes, securing a victory in game one with a score of 1-0, but falling in game two with a score of 7-2.

•    Senior Luke Montgomery (Orland Park, Ill./St. Laurence High School) led the Pride with two hits and an RBI.
•    Junior Beldon Glasgow (Markle, Ind./Norwell) also had a hit.
•    Sophomore Conor Pangburn (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) started on the mound for Purdue Northwest throwing four shutout innings and only allowing two hits while striking out two.
•    K. Werries led KWC with one hit.
•    E. Oakley threw all seven innings for KWC striking out nine.
•    The Pride would strike first in the fifth inning scoring their lone run after Luke Montgomery (Orland Park, Ill./St. Laurence High School) would lay down a textbook safety squeeze to score Billy Jones ().
•    The Pride would play great defense and Graduate Student Joe Tor (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport) and Senior Andrew Petsche (Oswego, Ill./Oswego East) would each come in clutch on the mound to secure the Pride a 1-0 victory over the Panthers.

Game One – W, 1-0 (7 Innings)
•    Senior Ethan Imlach (Mokena, Ill./Mount Carmel) led the Pride with one hit and an RBI.
•    Senior Sam Ochoa (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) started on the mound for the Pride throwing 1.2 innings before getting relieved by Junior Ben Cash (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community).
•    H. Hyden led KWC with two hits and an RBI.
•    S. Wright threw all seven innings for KWC striking out seven.
•    The Pride would fall into trouble early as the Panthers would add six runs through three innings of play.
•    The Pride would get on the board in the fifth when Ethan Imlach (Mokena, Ill./Mount Carmel) would advance and score on a pass ball.
•    The Panthers would add one more run in the sixth off a sac fly.
•    The Pride would find one more run in the seventh, but it wasn't enough to mount the comeback.
•    The Pride would fall in game two 7-2.
