The Purdue Northwest softball team nabbed two wins over the weekend at Music City Invitational.
The Basics

Game 1 - vs. Trevecca Nazarene - L, 3-0
The Breakdown
- Freshman Kylie Dugan (Buck Creek, Ind./William Henry Harrison)Â led the Pride going 3-for-3 at the plate and grabbed two stolen bases.
- Junior Jessica DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) added two hits.
- Senior Maddison Roop (Hudson, Ill./University) started on the mound for the Pride and pitched all six innings with five strikeouts.
- Summers led Trevecca Nazarene with three hits.
- Sensing started in the circle for the Trojans and pitched all seven innings. She ended the contest with 13 strikeouts.
- Trevecca Nazarene got the scoring started in the third inning scoring two runs to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Trojans then grabbed another run in the fifth to make it 3-0 and held off the Pride for the win.
Game 2 - vs. Thomas More - W, 3-1
The Breakdown
- Graduate student Selena Michko (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) led the Pride at the plate with three hits and one RBI.
- Senior Aubrey Shroyer (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) added two hits.
- Junior Darcy Barkauskas (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) chipped in one hit and two RBIs.
- Four Pride players had one stolen base each.
- Senior Gabby Paliska (Palos Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East (Wisconsin-Green Bay)) started in the circle for the Pride and pitched all seven innings for the win. She recorded nine strikeouts.
- Wefer and Kent led Thomas More with two hits each.
- King started on the mound for the Saints and pitched all 6.0 innings with three strikeouts during the game.
- Lincoln Memorial started the contest strong scoring three runs in the first inning taking an early 3-0 lead.
- Purdue Northwest took the early lead in the first inning off a Michko RBI single to make it 1-0.
- The Pride extended their lead to 3-0 in the third inning after Barkauskas hit a 2-RBI triple.
- The Saints gained a run a sixth but the Pride held on for the 3-1 win.
- Purdue Northwest ended the game with ten hits.
Game 3 - vs. Kentucky Wesleyan - W, 9-1 (5 Inn.)
The Breakdown
- Shroyer led the Pride with two hits and one RBI.
- Michko, J.DeBoer, and senior Kelsi Dillon (Braidwood, Ill./Reed-Custer (Georgian Court)) each added one hit and two RBIs.
- Freshman Emma Fair (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove) contributed one hit and one RBI.
- Roop started on the mound for the Pride and pitched another complete game win. She only gave up one run and one hit.
- Apple led Kentucky Wesleyan with one hit during the game.
- The Panthers grabbed the early lead scoring one run to make it 1-0.
- The Pride lit up the first inning scoring all nine of their runs to make score 9-1.
- Purdue Northwest held the Panthers to no more runs for the rest of the game and sealed it in the fifth inning, 9-1.
- The Pride ended the game with seven hits and three stolen bases.
Game 4 - vs. Harding - L, 8-0 (5 Inn.)
The Breakdown
- Michko and Dugan led the Pride with one hit each.
- Freshman Hannah Rafferty-Flatter (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South)Â started on the mound and pitched the first inning.
- Paliska came in and pitched the final three innings of the game.
- Lee led Harding with two hits and one RBI.
- Burch started in the circle for the Bisons pitching the first inning while Price came in to pitch the final three and earn the win.
- Harding took the early lead in the first inning grabbing two runs to make it 2-0.
- The Bisons then scored four more runs in the second and two more fourth to take the victory in the end, 8-0.

- The Pride next compete in the Lewis Dome Invitational from Thursday, February 22 to Friday, February 23. The invitational will take place in Des Plaines, Illinois.
