The Purdue Northwest baseball team took on Saginaw Valley this Saturday in a GLIAC doubleheader where the Pride would drop both games falling in game one 3-4, and game two 5-6.

The Breakdown
Game 1, L 4-3 (8 Innings)
- Graduate Ray Hilbrich (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) led the Pride with three hits and two RBIs.
- Senior Riley Gallagher (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington North High School) also contributed two hits.
- Freshman Conor Pangburn () started on the mound for the Pride pitching five innings and recording four strikeouts.
- E. Dufresne led Saginaw with two hits and an RBI.
- T. McLaren started and pitched seven innings for the Cardinals and tallied seven strikeouts.
- The Pride would strike first in the first inning from a Tom Flisk (Tinley Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew) RBI single.
- SVSU would answer back in the third inning putting up two runs to take the lead.
- In the fourth Ray Hilbrich (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) would hit a two-run homer to take the lead for the Pride.
- SVSU would tie the game up in the sixth and hit a walkoff in the eighth to secure the 4-3 victory.
Game 2, L 5-6 (9 Innings)
- Graduate Ray Hilbrich (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) led the Pride with three hits and two RBIs.
- Junior Ethan Imlach (Mokena, Ill./Mount Carmel) also contributed three hits.
- Senior Joe Buikema (Chicago, Ill./Notre Dame College Prep) started on the mound for the Pride pitching six innings and recording three strikeouts.
- T. Roe led Saginaw with two hits and an RBI.
- H. Merillat started and pitched six innings for the Cardinals and tallied four strikeouts.
- SVSU would take an early lead putting up two runs in the first inning.
- The Pride would quickly get these runs back and take the lead in the second inning putting up three runs.
- SVSU would tie the game 3-3 in the bottom of the second.
- The Pride would distance the score in the third adding two runs however SVSU would not be silenced, and they would retake the lead in the bottom of the third.
- Each team would play outstanding defense and Saginaw was able to stop the Pride from scoring and secure a 6-5.
