The Purdue Northwest softball team split two hard-fought road battles in GLIAC play at Wayne State on Tuesday afternoon, taking Game 1, 4-2, and falling just short in Game 2, 5-3.

Game 1
The Breakdown
- Senior Jocey Gault (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) led the Pride one hit and two RBIs.
- Junior Jessica DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) added two hits.
- Graduate Madison Schultz (Lafayette, Ind./Faith Christian) chipped in one hit and one RBI.
- Junior Maddison Roop (Hudson, Ill./University) started on the mound for the Pride and pitched all seven innings to secure the win. She gave up only two runs and struckout four batters.
- Rylie Josephson led Wayne State with two hits.
- Sasha Buckberger pitched all seven innings for the Warriors and notched four strikeouts.
- Wayne State started the scoring in the second inning with a Jessica O'Donnell two-run homer to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Pride scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead.
- The Purdue Northwest pitching and defense stayed tough for the rest of the game to hold on for the 4-2 victory.

- Josephson led Wayne State oncer again with three hits and three RBIs.
- Alexis Bonk started on the mound for the Warriors and pitched all seven innings to earn the win.
- The Pride started off the scoring taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
- Wayne State tied it up in the first, 1-1.
- The Warriors took the lead in the third inning scoring two runs to take a 3-1 lead.
- Arnold hit an RBI double in the fourth to cut the Pride deficit to 3-2.
- Purdue Northwest tied the game 3-3 in the sixth inning when Darcy Barkauskas (St. Johns, Ind./Lake Central) earned a walk with the bases loaded.
- Wayne State scored two runs in the sixth to secure win in the end, 5-3.
