The Purdue Northwest softball team split their fourth day of the Florida Spring Games shutting out Illinois-Springfield in Game 1, 2-0, and then falling to Alliance University in a tough battle in Game 2, 5-4.
Tuesday, March 14 vs. UIS - W, 2-0
The Breakdown
- Junior Jessica DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) led the Pride with three hits, going 3-for-3 at the plate.
- Sophomore Myah Stuckey (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) and senior Jocey Gault (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) added one hit and one RBI.
- Junior Aubrey Shroyer (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) chipped in two hits.
- Junior Gabby Paliska (Palos Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East (Wisconsin-Green Bay)) started on the mound for the Pride and pitched an excellent game. She gave up no runs, allowed only one hit, and struckout five batters.
- Dennis led UIS with one hit.
- Bartletti pitched the first two innings for the Praire Stars, then Miles pitched the last four.
- The Pride earned the first run of the contest in the second inning off a Stuckey RBI single and go up 1-0.
- Purdue Northwest added their second run after Gault punched in a score and seal the win, 2-0.

The Breakdown
- Shroyer led the Pride with two hits and two RBIs.
- Stuckey and senior Selena Michko (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) added one hit and one RBI each.
- J. DeBoer chipped in two hits during the contest.
- Junior Emma Hill (Holmes Beach, Fla./Cary-Grove (IL)) started in the circle for the Pride and pitched the first four innings and notched four strikeouts.
- Quick led Alliacne with one hit and three RBIs.
- Niebla started on the mound for Alliace and pitched the first six innings.
- Alliance got off to a 1-0 start in the first inning
- The Pride tied it up 1-1 in the third.
- Purdue Northwest took the lead after scoring three runs in the fourth inning making the score, 4-1.
- Alliance tied the game up 4-4 in the fifth inning after scoring two runs.
- Alliance took the lead in the sixth and held it to seal the win in the end, 5-4.
