The Purdue Northwest softball team earned two more wins in the Florida Spring Games dominating American International in five innings, 11-2, and fighting back to earn a hard-fought victory over Felician, 3-2.
Thursday, March 16 vs. American International - W, 11-2 (5 Innings)
The Breakdown
- Senior Selena Michko (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) led the Pride going 3-of-4 at the plate with three RBIs.
- Senior Ashley Bravo (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) added one hit and two RBIs.
- Junior Aubrey Shroyer (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) chipped in two hits.
- Senior Abbie May (LaSalle, Ill./Saint Bede Academy) started on the mound for the Pride and pitched all five innings. She ended the contest striking out six batters.
- Andrade led American International with two hits.
- Erti pitched the first 2.2 innings for the Yellow Jackets and notched two strikeouts.
- The Pride scored first to start the game in the first inning to take an early 2-0 lead.
- Purdue Northwest then scored nine straight runs to put themselves up 11-0 in fourth inning.
- American International scored two runs in the fifth, but wasn't enough as the Pride finished the game with the win, 11-2.

The Breakdown
- Junior Allison Arnold (Tucson, Ariz./Naperville North) led the Pride with two hits and two RBIs.
- Senior Jocey Gault (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) added one hit and one RBI each.
- Junior Jessica DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) and Michko chipped in one hit during the contest.
- Junior Maddison Roop (Hudson, Ill./University)Â started in the circle for the Pride and pitched all seven innings to help earn the victory.
- Chierchia led Felician with one hit and two RBIs.
- Williams started on the mound for Felician and pitched all six innings.
- The Pride scored the first run in the second inning off a Gault solo shot to take a 1-0 lead.
- Felician scored a run in the fourth and then a run in the fifth to take the lead, 2-1.
- Arnold hit a clutch two RBI single for Purdue Northwest to give them the lead 3-2 in the sixth.
- The Pride pitching and defense held strong in the end for the 3-2 victory.
