The Purdue Northwest softball team split their third day of the Florida Spring Games falling in a tough battle to University of Missouri St.-Louis, 1-0, and then coming back to beat Bentley in the second game, 7-3.
Monday, March 13Â vs. UMSL - L, 1-0
The Breakdown
- Three Pride players notched a hit during the game.
- Junior Maddison Roop (Hudson, Ill./University) started in the circle for the Pride and pitched all seven innings. She only allowed one run and recorded five strikeouts.
- Travis led UMSL with two hits and one RBI.
- Borowitz started in the circle for the Tritons and struck out two batters.
- The lone score was scored by UMSL in the fifth inning to hang on for the win, 1-0.

The Breakdown
- Senior Ashley Bravo (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) led the Pride with two hits and one RBI.
- Junior Jessica DeBoer (Dyer, Ind./Illiana Christian) and senior Madison Schultz (Lafayette, Ind./Faith Christian) added one hit and two RBIs each.
- Junior Aubrey Shroyer (Napoleon, Ohio/Napoleon) chipped in two hits during the contest.
- J. DeBoer started on the mound for the Pride.
- Senior Abbie May (LaSalle, Ill./Saint Bede Academy) came in for relief and helped Purdue Northwest claim the win. She tallied five strikeouts.
- Hillier led Bentley with two hits.
- Fink started in the circle for the Falcons and pitched the entire game and earned eight strikeouts.
- The Pride got the scoring started early taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
- Bentley took the lead in the first inning scoring three runs to make it 3-2.
- Purdue Northwest regained the lead scoring two runs in the second inning making it 4-3
- The Pride extended their lead in the seventh inning scoring three runs and sealing the victory, 7-3.
