The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced their 2023 Volleyball Player Awards and All-GLIAC teams. The Purdue Northwest volleyball team garnered three selections this season with sophomore
Arra Cottrell (LeClaire, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) and freshman
Anika Huelskamp (Oxnard, Calif./Oxnard) making Second Team and sophomore
Livia Thomsen (Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) earning Honorable Mention.
Cottrell receives her second straight All-GLIAC honors after being selections Honorable Mention last season. She led the Pride this season with a career-best 324 kills and 2.77 kills per set. She also notched a career-high 210 digs, 21 service aces, and 45 total blocks.
Huelskamp earns her first All-GLIAC selection after a stellar freshman season. She finished with 265 kills, 2.30 kills per set, and 44 service aces which led the team.
Thomsen garners her first postseason All-GLIAC award after leading the Pride defensively with a career-best 468 digs, 4.00 digs per set, and also added 43 service aces. Recently, Thomsen became the first Pride volleyball player to earn GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
