GLIAC — Purdue Northwest sophomore Noah Burgh (Warsaw, Ind./Warsaw Community High School) has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Burgh, who is a native of Warsaw, Ind., pitched six shutout innings in his first collegiate start to lead PNW in a 5-0 win at Southwest Baptist last Friday. The right-hander struck out a career-high six batters and scattered just two hits in the Pride's first win of the season. Burgh cracked the starting rotation after making six relief appearances in his freshman campaign last spring. He's the fourth member of the PNW baseball program to earn GLIAC Pitcher of the Week in school history.

PNW went 3-1 against Southwest Baptist on the road last weekend and will host Minot State (N.D.) tomorrow afternoon at Dowling Park. The non-conference matchup against the Beavers opens a seven-game homestand this week at Dowling Park.
