PARK FOREST, Ill. — Purdue Northwest claimed the Doubles point and
Luca Kirchhoff (Wiesbaden, Germany) recorded a win at No. 2 Singles, but it wasn't enough for the Pride in Saturday's 5-2 setback against Northwood at the Park Forest Tennis Club.
PNW (2-9, 0-2 GLIAC) nearly swept the Doubles action after a narrow 6-4 defeat at the top match. The Pride lineup featured Kirchhoff and
Bjorgvin Juliusson (Reykjavik, Iceland) teaming up for a 6-2 win at No. 2 Doubles and
Marcos Jose Diaz Gutierrez (Guadalajara, Spain) pairing with
Jonas Franssen (Deuss, Germany) to post a 6-3 victory at No. 3 Doubles.
In Singles play, Kirchhoff registered a three-set win at the No. 2 matchup against NU's Max Wild, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.
All but one Singles match between the Pride and Timberwolves went three sets in a competitive GLIAC affair.
