Box Score HAMMOND, Ind. — The D2 Purdue Northwest men's ice hockey team won the second game of a back-to-back against the D1 Northern Illinois Huskies, 6-1, on Saturday night. The win marked the first home victory for head coach
Nick Tomczyk in his debut at The Kube.
As expected with back-to-backs, the physicality was high throughout the entirety of the contest.

There was a lid on the goal for the Huskies, as PNW goaltender
Kyle Fritz allowed just one goal and earned 26 saves. NIU pushed the puck down the ice and applied pressure at times, but the Pride netminder was solid all night.

The PNW offensive attack caught fire with
Sam Bourdages (6:05 1st, 10:23 1st) and
Brett Bandstra (6:46 3rd, 19:18 3rd) each having a pair of goals, along with goals from
Anthony Caserta (9:06 2nd) and
Jeremy Lochow(2:13 3rd).
Josh Gillgren,
Craig Herman,
Josh Hall,
Luke Eenigenburg, and Bourdages all chipped in with an assist.

The second straight win over NIU brings the PNW D2 squad to 3-2-0 on the season.
